The following Grand Theft Auto IV Flying Rats directions will start after you have reached the “Mansion” of the intro driving mission (the Safehouse on Mohawk Ave. Between Crockett Ave and Bart St.). You will also need a weapon that you can shoot with (pistol as an example) or throw (Molotov as an example) to deal with these Flying Rats/Pigeons. You can locate a Pistol South of the Safehouse on Mohawk Ave. Between Crockett Ave and Bart St. at the Southwest Side of the Go Kart Track near the building. If you want a Molotov you can find one in the building Southwest of the “Memory Lanes” Bowling alley that is Southeast of (the Safehouse on Mohawk Ave. Between Crockett Ave and Bart St.) or if you look at the map the blue rectangle building it shows East of the Go Kart track is where the Molotov is at.)
Flying Rat #001
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A. As you leave the “Mansion” (apartment) get into a car and drive South on
Mohawk Ave.
B. Turn left (East) on Crockett Ave. and then turn right (South) on Wappinger
Ave.
C. Stop the car at the dug up portion of street up ahead and climb over the
fence where the “Closed come back in the Summer” sign is on the fence to the
left (near the Bump My Ride building).
D. Walk towards the large blue support beams of the Ferris Wheel here and as
you get near them you should see a ticket booth to the left.
E. Go around to the back of the ticket booth and you should see a dumpster
near the wall to the South.
F. Climb up onto that dumpster and then up onto the wall it is next to (you
don’t have to climb up here but this is an example of where you can climb
up).
G. Walk to the Southeast and you should see the 1st Flying Rat on the pole
between the two gondolas of this Ferris Wheel you see here.
Flying Rat #002

A. Now make your way back out to the car but instead of getting into the car
go up either ramp you see at the end of the street to the left (South).
B. Make your way down the stairs just to the left of the long pier you see
here to the right (Southwest) and make your way under the long pier.
C. Make your way towards the water’s edge under this pier and you will see
the 2nd Flying Rat here to the right just before you reach the water.
Flying Rat #003

A. Now Get back into the car and drive North on Wappinger Ave.
B. Turn left (West) on Crockett Ave. and get out of the car when you reach
Iroquois Ave.
C. You should see to the left (South) there are three archways and on the
pole of the right (West) most archway is the 3rd Flying Rat (doesn’t glow
red or at least it wasn’t for us).
Flying Rat #004

A. Get back into the car and continue West along this street that has now
turned into Delaware Ave.
B. Follow this street as it curves to the right and get out of the car before
you reach Bart St.
C. Hop over the small wall you see to the left (West) and go down the
staircase you see here.
D. When you reach the bottom of the stairs you should see a small pier to the
left (Northwest).
E. Go out onto that small pier and you will see the 4th Flying Rat on one of
the wooden post here to the left.
Flying Rat #005

A. Get back into the car and continue North along this street.
B. Get out of the car as you get to Cisco St. and there is a few ways you
do this one:
1. Look to the Northeast and you should see across the street a doorway below
an awning just to the right (East) of the “Broker Navy Yard” sign. Park a
vehicle next to awning over the doorway you see to the East of the “Broker
Navy Yard” sign. Climb up onto the vehicle and jump to the awning (If you
have a taller vehicle it will make it easier to climb up onto it). Climb up
onto the pillar/column to the left (West) and walk across the “Broker Navy
Yard” sign. You should see the 5th Flying Rat up ahead on top of the other
pillar/column of this sign.
2. Look to the South/Southeast to see some electrical cabinets you can climb
up onto near a telephone pole. Climb up onto the roof of the building these
cabinets are near and then climb up onto the higher rooftop you see in front
of you. Climb up onto the highest rooftop to your left and go to the
North/Northwest corner of this rooftop. Look in the direction of the large
crane in the distance to the North/Northwest and you should see the 5th
Flying Rat moving on top of the column/pillar just to the left of the
“Broker Navy Yard” Sign).
3. If you have completed the mission that won’t allow you to get up onto the
rooftop of the building mentioned in the option above go to the Northwestern
corner of this building. Look to the left (Northwest) and you should see a
crane in the distance. Make your way to that crane and climb up the ladder
you find at the Southwestern corner of it. Climb up the next ladder to the
right (Northeast) and then look to the Southeast with the sniper rifle to see
the 5th Flying Rat on top of the pillar/column to the West of the “Broker
Navy Yard” sign.
Flying Rat #006

A. Get back into the car and continue North along this street.
B. Follow this street as it curves to the right up ahead and turns into
Mohanet Ave.
C. After you follow the curve to the left at the bottom of this hill you are
going down get out of the car and go to the West side of the building to your
left.
D. Climb up onto the (Northeastern most) short pile of large wooden beams
you find on this side of the building and look to the to see the 6th
Flying Rat on a an air conditioning unit here.
Flying Rat #007

A. Get back into the car and continue North along this street.
B. Get out of the car after you go pass Chicory St. and enter the opening
you see below the awning to the right (Northeast).
C. Walk down into the area at the end of this corridor and look up above the
lone dumpster to the left here to see the 7th Flying Rat at the left corner
of the railing of the fire escape.
Flying Rat #008

A. Get back into the car and continue North on this street.
B. Turn right (Northeast) onto Mohanet Ave. and then follow this street
until it curves to the right turning into Creek St.
C. Once it turns into Creek St. get out of the car once you see the Creek St.
Diner on the right side of the street.
D. Go to the back of that diner and face away from the back of the diner to
see the 8th Flying Rat on a ledge of the wall to the South.
Flying Rat #009

A. Get back into the car and continue Northeast/East on Creek St.
B. Turn left (East) onto Brunner St. and then turn left (North) on Dukes
Boulevard.
C. After you go pass Huntington St. get out of the car just before you reach
the second fire hydrant on the sidewalk to the right.
D. Make your way down the walkway you see to the right (East) between the
buildings here and you should see a basketball court here to the right.
E. Look at the top of the backboard nearest to you and you should see the
9th Flying Rat on it.
Flying Rat #010

A. Get back into the car and continue North on this street.
B. Turn left (Northwest/West) on Hooper St. and turn right (North) on
Concord Ave.
C. Get out of the car under the large bridge at the top of the small hill
here and make your way down the slope to the left (West).
D. At the bottom of this slope drop down onto the walkway you come to and
follow it into a tunnel to the left (South).
E. About halfway through the tunnel you should see the 10th Flying Rat to the
left here on the floor of the tunnel.
Flying Rat #011

A. Now instead of going back to the car walk back out of the tunnel the way
you came in and follow this walkway to the North.
B. As you go along this walkway you should see a basketball court here to
the right (East).
C. Walk towards the far side of the court and then look to the left (North)
to see a multi-leveled diving board platform.
D. Climb over the wall near that diving board platform and climb up the
stairs of that diving board platform to see the 11th Flying Rat on the
railing to the left of the highest diving board.
Flying Rat #012

A. Now get back into the car and continue North on Concord Ave (just drive
around the barricades blocking off the street up ahead).
B. Turn left (West) onto Franklin St. and get out of the car near the first
light pole you see on the sidewalk to the right.
C. Climb over the small wall near this light pole and then climb up onto the
small wall to the left (Northwest).
D. Look down the slope to the North/Northwest and you should see the 12th
Flying Rat at the edge of the rooftop here.
Flying Rat #013

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Drive East on Franklin St. and get out of the car after you go pass
Tinconderoga Ave.
C. Walk to the sidewalk to the left (North) and then walk to the Northwest
to see the 13th Flying Rat on a large rock you come to here.

A. Get back into the car and continue East on Brandon Ave (incase you didn’t
notice Franklin turned into Brandon).
B. Just before the streets curves to the right up ahead get out of the car
and go around to the back of the wooden ramp you see up ahead to the East to
see the 14th Flying Rat under this wooden ramp.

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Turn left (South) onto Tinconderoga Ave. and then turn left (East) onto
Morris St.
C. Get out of the car before you reach Yorktown Ave. and you should see the
15th Flying Rat in the tree at the corner to the left (North).

A. Get back into the car and turn right (South) onto Yorktown Ave.
B. Get out of the car near the third tree you come to on the sidewalk and
then walk down the alley this tree is near to the West.
C. As you reach the end of this alley you will see on the corner of the
wooden fence to the left the 16th Flying Rat.
Flying Rat #017

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Turn right (East) onto Morris St. and then get out of the car before you
reach Brandon Ave.
C. Make your way up the staircase you see to the left (North) and once you
reach the train platform at the top of the stairs look up to the left to
spot the 17th Flying Rat in the rafters of the roof here.

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Drive West on Morris St. and then turn right (North) onto Concord Ave.
C. Follow this street as it curves to the right after you go pass Franklin
St. and then get out of the car at the first light pole you see to the right.
D. Go across the street to the North and climb over the wall here.
E. Go towards the little playground area you see to the right (East) and
you should spot the 18th Flying Rat on one of the bars of the monkey bars
here.
Flying Rat #019 & #020

A. Get back into the car and continue East along this street.
B. Turn left into the Parking lot entrance you come to on the left and then
get out of the car.
C. Look to the left (West/Southwest) and you should see the 19th Flying Rat
on the wall near the entrance here along with the 20th Flying Rat on the
ground next to that wall.
Flying Rat #021

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Turn left (East) back out onto Dukes Drive and then turn left
(North/Northeast) onto Sing Sing Ave (Dukes Bay Bridge).
C. Get out of the car before you reach the toll booth and hop over the small
wall to the right (East/Southeast).
D. Make your way along the wall here to the Northeast until you can go under
this bridge to the left and then swim your way to the sixth support beam
platform to the (North).
E. Climb up onto that platform and you will find the 21st Flying Rat here.
Flying Rat #022

A. Get back into the car and continue (North) along Sing Sing Ave.
B. Turn right (North) on Flanger St. and follow this street as it curves to
the left.
C. Get out of the car near the light pole you see to the right after you go
pass Planche St. and walk down the alley that is near this light pole to the
North.
D. About halfway down this alley you should see the 22nd Flying Rat to the
right on a pipe near some dumpsters here.
Flying Rat #023

A. Get back into the car and continue West on Flanger St.
B. Turn left (South) onto Altona Ave. and then turn right (West) onto Bronco
St.
C. Turn right (North) onto Caterpillar St. and follow this street until you
reach the circular road at the end of it.
D. Get out of the car and look at the wall that is at the center of the
circular road here to find the 23rd Flying Rat.
Flying Rat #024

A. Get back into the car and go back the way you came on Caterpillar St.
B. Turn right (Southwest) onto Worm St./Bronco St. and then turn left
(Southeast) onto Leavenworth Ave.
C. After you go pass the Northern Expressway on this street get out of the
car just before this street curves to the right up ahead.
D. Look to the left (East/Southeast) and you should see a light at the corner
of the building across the street with the 24th Flying Rat on top of it.
Flying Rat #025

A. Get back into the car and follow the street as it curves to the right
(South).
B. Turn right (West) onto Lompoc Ave. and then follow this street as it
curves to the right (Northwest).
C. Get out of the car under the Northwestern side of the bridge you see up
ahead and go to the sidewalk across the street to the Southwest.
D. Look to the right (Northwest) and you should see large staircase going
down to the piers here.
E. Make your way down the many staircases and at the bottom of the staircases
you should see an old boat/ship to the left.
F. Make your way along the pier until you can see all the windows of the
upper part of that boat and you should see the Flying Rat in the third window
from the right.
Flying Rat #026

A. Get back into the car and continue Northwest along Lompoc Ave.
B. Get out of the car after you go pass Worm St. and then walk along the dirt
road you see to the left (Southwest).
C. As you reach the destroyed car you see to the right on this street look up
near the Eastern corner of the second most highest rooftop of the building to
the Northwest and you should see the 26th Flying Rat at the edge of that
rooftop here.
Flying Rat #027

A. Get back into the car and continue Northwest on Lompoc Ave.
B. Turn left (Southwest) onto Jackhammer St. and turn right up ahead to
continue on Jackhammer St.
C. Follow this street as it curves to the left and then turn left (Southeast)
on Beaumont Ave.
D. Follow this street as it turns to the right up ahead and turns into Rocket
St.
E. Turn right (West) onto Spin St. and then get out of the car in front of
the building with the sign that says “Sales and Parts” to the right.
F. walk to the South/Southwest from this building and you should see the 27th
Flying Rat on the railing at the back door of a building here.
Flying Rat #028

A. Get back into the car and continue West on Spin St.
B. Turn left (South) onto Guantanamo Ave. and then turn right (West) onto
Rocket St.
C. Turn left onto the street at the intersection up ahead and get out of the
car once the fence ends to the left.
D. Walk through the opening between the fence and wall here to the left and
go down the stairs you find here.
E. Go up the stairs you see to the right at the bottom of this staircase and
you should see the 28th Flying Rat on the cement railing to the left at the
top of these stairs.
Flying Rat #029

A. Get back into the car and continue to follow this street as it curves to
the right up ahead.
B. Get out of the car when you go under the large bridge up ahead and then
look down the hill to the Southwest.
C. You should see a very large pipe here and inside that pipe you will find
the 29th Flying Rat.
Flying Rat #030 & #031

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Go back the way you came and turn left (West) onto Rocket St.
C. Turn right (North) on Joliet St. and then before you reach Switch St.
get out of the car.
D. Look to the Southwest and you should see 30th Flying Rat at the corner
edge of the “Cleaners” building rooftop (just above the light) with the
31st Flying Rat near it also on the edge of this rooftop to the right.
Flying Rat #032 & #033

A. Get back into the car and turn left (West) onto Switch Street.
B. Turn left (South) onto Wallkill Ave. and get out of the car near the
light pole you see halfway down this street on the right.
C. You should see to the right (West) the 32nd Flying Rat on the wall near
this light pole.
D. Look up a bit higher and you should see the 33rd Flying Rat on the left
side of the girder that connects the wall with the building here.
Flying Rat #034

A. Get back into the car and continue straight along Wallkill Ave.
B. Turn right (West) onto Hollowback St. and then turn right (Northwest) onto
San Quentin Ave.
C. Get out of the car after you make the turn and look at the map screen.
D. You should see a large building to the West/Southwest of your current
position and just Southwest of that building is a portion of land jutting
out along the coast of this island.
E. Now exit the map screen and make your way over there to see a three
large rock formations sticking out of the water here.
F. On the farthest (Southwestern most) and shortest rock away from you is
where you can find the 34th Flying Rat on it (you probably won’t be able to
even spot it without a sniper rifle).
(Note: If you don’t have a sniper rifle there is another option we have been
told told of by Finalsquid:)
“I am early in the game, I only just finished the Master and the Moltov.
Here is how I did it. I took a Reefer (The fishing boat looking one) boat
from Steinway. The only way I can seem to get these to appear is to swim
over to Bohan and then swim back and then the boat is there at one of the
large docks a ways east of the Sing Sing bridge. I have tried this 5 times
and the boats have been there every time I have come back from Bohan. I then
sailed to the three rocks, the reason I say to take the Reefer and not the
speed boat is because going around the southwest corner of Bohan island when
you want to swing North, the speed boat goes to fast and every time I tried
it I got the 6 stars. The Reefer is much slower and you can hug the wall
much better. Hug the wall as tight as you can and sail up to the three rocks,
and park beside the south side of the middle rock. You can then get out of
the Reefer and climb on its roof and take a shot with your pistol.”
Flying Rat #035

A. Get back into the car and continue Northwest on San Quentin Ave.
B. Turn right (East) on Drop St. and then get out of the car before you get
to Mill St.
C. Look to the left (Northwest) to see a hole in a fence just to the left
of a “Mini Market”.
D. Enter that hole in the fence to enter the alley behind it and make your
way down this alley.
E. When you reach the wall up ahead go to the left (West) and look up to the
right to see the 35th Flying Rat on the top of the fence post of the fence
here to the right.
Flying Rat #036

A. Get back into the car and look to the Southwest to see a wooden enclosure
under the stairs here.
B. Enter the opening on the North side of that wooden enclosure and you will
find the 36th Flying Rat on the ground within that enclosure.
Flying Rat #037

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Turn right (Northwest) onto San Quentin Ave.
C. Turn right (East) onto Grand Boulevard and then turn left (North) onto
Valdez St.
D. Follow this street as it curves to the right (East) and then get out of
the car just before you reach the light pole at the start of the curve in the
street up ahead.
E. Walk to the wall/fence to the left (North) and if you stopped the car at
the correct place you should see the 37th Flying Rat on a rock ledge just on
the other side of this wall/fence.
Flying Rat #038

A. Get back into the car and continue along this street following it as it
curves to the right (South).
B. Follow this street as it curves up ahead to the right (Southwest) and then
curves again to the right (West).
C. Get out of the car as you get to Turtle St. and go down the stairs you see
to the right (Northeast).
D. Go up the small staircase you see to the left (North/Northeast) at the
bottom of these stairs and as you exit this alley up ahead go to the right
(East) along the sidewalk here.
E. As you walk along this sidewalk you will see to your right (Southeast) the
38th Flying Rat on a cement post to the left of the entrance of the building
here.
Flying Rat #039

A. Now continue to walk along the sidewalk to the East and follow it as it
curves to the left (Northeast) up ahead.
B. Go across Valdez St. when you come to it and then continue Northeast along
the sidewalk here.
C. Go down the second staircase you come to on the right and make your way
down the various staircases here.
D. When you reach the bottom of the last staircase go towards the wall/fence
straight ahead.
E. Look to the left and you should see the 39th Flying Rat on top of the wall
near the telephone pole here.
Flying Rat #040

A. Get back into the car to continue straight on this street and turn right
(North) onto Elbow St up ahead.
B. Turn left (West) onto Grand Boulevard and then turn right (North) onto
Uprock St.
C. Get out of the car before you reach Butterfly St. and then walk towards
into the opening in the fence you see to the North across the street.
D. Make your way down the hillside here to the North and climb over the fence
with the red wooden boards on it.
E. You should see the 40th Flying Rat to the left (North/Northwest) on one of
the cement blocks here.
Flying Rat #041

A. Now run East from the block you found the last Flying Rat on and hop over
the railing you come to.
B. Run along the water’s edge on the beach you land on to the East and go
under the pier you come to along the beach here up ahead to find the 41st
Flying Rat at the corner of the wall near one of the support poles of the
pier here.
Flying Rat #042

A. Get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Turn left (East) onto Grand Boulevard and you will go under three bridges
along this street.
C. After you go under the third bridge go up the small hill you see up ahead
as the street curves to the right and as the street starts to go down hill
get out of the car.
D. Climb up onto the wall you see to the right (South) and walk along it to
the left (East).
E. As you reach the rooftop of the small building up ahead you should see the
42nd Flying Rat on this rooftop.
Flying Rat #043

A. Get back into the car and continue straight along this street.
B. This street will eventually curve to the right up ahead and turn into
the “Northern Expressway”.
C. As you continue along the Northern Expressway you will eventually see a
“Liberty Rock Radio” Billboard over the right side of the street (near the
Gas Station).
D. Get out of the car under that billboard and walk over to the short wall at
the other side of the Northern Expressway to the Northeast.
E. Hop over this short wall to drop down to the area below and then walk to
the edge of the cliff to the Northeast.
F. Look down to the East/Northeast and you should see the 43rd Flying Rat on
the rock formation here.
Flying Rat #044
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A. Now make your way back to the car (you can use the tunnel to the North to
find your way back up to it) and back the car up a bit.
B. Turn right (Southwest) onto Downrock Loop you see here and then turn left
(Southeast) onto Flanger St. and then after the street curves to the right
turn left (East) onto Sing Sing Ave. to make your way back across the toll
bridge.
C. Once you reach the other end of the toll bridge turn left (Southeast) onto
Hewes St.
D. Turn left (East) onto Walton Lane and then turn left (North) up ahead at
the end of the park walkway you are on.
E. Go down the hill along this park walkway and turn right (East) onto the
first walkway you come to.
F. About halfway through the curve in the walkway up ahead get out of the car
and enter one of the green doors of the large circus structure to the right
(Southeast).
G. If you entered at the correct place you should see to the right a
staircase in the distance and if you go to the entrance/opening to the right
of that staircase you should see the 44th Flying Rat here on the ground.
Flying Rat #045

A. Get back into the car and continue along the curve in this walkway and
turn right (East) at the end of this walkway.
B. Follow this walkway until it comes out onto a street and then turn right
(South) onto Cleves Ave.
C. Turn left (East) onto Tudor St. and then get out of the car just before
you reach the second traffic light on this street (the traffic light after
Saratoga Ave.).
D. Walk North among the trees here and you will eventually come to a small
pumping station building.
E. Walk up the small ramp of this building that you come to and you will see
the 45th Flying Rat on the wall to the left at the top of the ramp.
Flying Rat #046

(Note: Just like with #034 this is merely just to let you know where the
Flying Rat is located this way you can come back to it later when you have
the Sniper Rifle.)
A. Get back into the car and continue straight along this street.
B. Follow this street as it curves to the right and then turn left (East)
onto the first street you come to.
C. Turn right (South) at the end of this street and then follow this street
as it curves to the left up ahead.
D. Just as you get to the end of this curve get out of the car and look to
the Northeast to see the very tall Control Tower of the airport here in the
distance.
E. You will need to come back to this one later when you have a sniper rifle
but the 46th Flying Rat is at the center of the railing of the balcony at the
very top of that Control Tower.
E1. If you would like to get this one without the fear of wanted level enter
the Sixaxis Tutorial on your cell phone. Go through the Tutorial until you
get to the helicopter tutorial and then fly over to the back of the control
tower. Land near the back of the control tower and then go on foot
to get the shotgun that is in the back of the control tower. Get back into
the helicopter and then land on the large balcony at the top of the control
tower to use that shotgun on this Flying Rat.
Flying Rat #047

A. Get back into the car and continue along the curve in the street.
B. Turn into the street with the toll booths you see to the left and get out
of the car just before you reach the toll booths.
C. You should see to the left (Northeast) on the small post here the 47th
Flying Rat.
Flying Rat #048

A. Now pay the toll and continue straight along this street.
B. Follow this street as it curves up ahead and then get out of the car after
the curve.
C. Enter the doorway of the building to the right (North) and make your way
up the staircase you find inside.
D. Go out to the train platform at the top of the stairs and go across the
tracks to the left (East).
E. Follow the walkway here on the side of the tracks to the North and you
will eventually come to the “FlyUs” building.
F. Continue along the tracks to the Northwest until you can hop over the
railing onto the roof of this building.
G. Make your way around to the East side of this rooftop (We recommend going
along the front of this building or else you will probably get a 4 star
wanted level going along the back of the building) and hop over the small
wall here to get onto the next rooftop with the large dark colored air
conditioners.
H. Go between those air conditioners and you will find the 48th Flying Rat
between them.

A. Make your way back to the car and enter the building again that it is
parked near.
B. Go up the stairs again and out onto the train platform.
C. Go across the tracks to the left (East) and follow the walkway here on the
side of the tracks to the South.
D. Make your way until you are just over the toll booths and then look to the
East/Northeast.
E. You should see from here a large round circular in the support pillar just
to the right of the main entrance into the airport terminal.
F. You will need the sniper rifle for this but the 49th Flying Rat is inside
that round hole.

A. Now get back into the car and make a U-turn.
B. Drive around the small post in front of you to get onto the street
directly in front of you and then turn left (North) onto this street.
C. Follow this street as it curves to the left (West) up ahead and then turn
right (West) onto the street (Tudor St.) you entered this area from at the
end of the curve.
D. Turn right (North) at the end of this street and follow this street as it
curves to the left (West).
E. Turn left (South) onto Cleves Ave. and get out of the car before you
reach Carrollton St.
F. Go across the street to the Northeast and you should see the 50th Flying
Rat just above the green awning at the front of the building here.
